Parties and Independents
We do not provide support to political parties, though we have supported candidates from political parties that have shown their commitment to the objectives of our Plan. We support a series of independent candidates and their groups that support the Plan.
The process:
All candidates were encouraged to read the Plan and to contact us should they wish our support.
We appealed to all candidates to pitch for our support in public forums held at Ourimbah RSL club. The meetings formed their opinions on the basis of this open process. Additionally we have been contacted by candidates that did not attend our pitch meetings and questioned them about their motivations and for their support for the plan’s stated objectives.
In some instances upon investigation of preference deals we have elected not to support a candidate.
